Let’s face it, things can happen in a retail environment: Network cables that are disconnected or a web-router that breaks. In such a situation a status change is immediately triggered in the RetailPlayer management portal. A music provider instantly sees when the internet is gone off in that shop, before the user is calling.
The RetailPlayer does still continue to play music from its internal memory. It automatically switches to the songs that are uploaded to a playlist in the management portal. The RetailPlayer downloads the songs and stores them for the case when they’re needed. While the player is bridging the gap, there is enough time to fix the internet connection or send a replacement device.
Adding a new device means simply entering the device number online - plugged to the internet it works again.
