Barix for Security

There are many applications for Barix systems and products in the security field, from helping to secure the physical security of people and property, to mass notification solutions for public spaces, to audio surveillance.

IP technology offers many advantages:

• reduced installation costs compared with dedicated wiring systems (PA, intercom or physical security)

• flexibility - IP solutions can easily and instantaneously route audio or control signals around the world, either over a protected corporate VPN, or even over public internet, enabling ready disaster recovery if one site goes down, or to share information with emergency services.

• Barix devices are low cost, low power and built for continuous operation: reliability where it matters.

• Incoming Notifications: SOS help points on train stations and campuses, panic buttons in banks - all can be routed locally, or internationally, to one, or many places simultaneously

• Outbound Notifications: Paging solutions that allow you to target individual areas, dynamic groups of zones, or all stations, either with live, or with pre-recorded messages.

• Physical Security:

  • SIP and IP intercoms that enable authorised users to remotely activate door controls, meaning that a security guard on patrol with a SIP phone can still control physical access to the facility

  • monitor inputs from door contacts, pressure plates and motion sensors

  • Lock down / open up all doors on command

• Surveillance:

  • listen in to an area when it becomes noisy, or someone trips a motion sensor

  • Stream and record audio 24/7 : what's being said?

  • when the noise threshold is exceeded, send a trigger to a nearby camera to start recording
