Digital Message Repeater
The Digital Message Repeater application is simple, yet exceedingly powerful and useful. When running this application, the Exstreamer 1000 acts as an analog audio pass through and digital message inserter/repeater. Analog audio presented to the input is passed through to the analog outputs. Messages stored in an attached USB can be inserted into the analog output stream with “voice over” (mixing) capability. The application supports multiple interfaces to accept the commands to insert the audio and control how many times it is repeated and whether it is mixed, or replaces the normal audio. Messages can be triggered via serial interfaces, network interface or contract closures, as well as by silence detection on an incoming stream (analog). /p>
Codec/Quality
Stored messages can use MP3, uLaw/aLaw or uncompressed (PCM) audio codecs. For use with AES/EBU input stream, the sample rate of the audio file to be inserted must match the stream rate (32/44.1/48k).
Memory:
USB Flash, FAT16 supported (FAT 32 soon). Practically unlimited number of files/memory. Internal memory for smaller sound clips (1MB).
Message Trigger/API
Four contact closure inputs, and messages can be trigged via serial TCP, UDP, cgi interfaces (ascii protocol).
Control Outputs
Four relay outputs can be activated with message playback to trigger special functions.
Interfaces
For the Audio interfaces, balanced stereo inputs and outputs and AES/EBU give the broadcaster a choice. Contact Closure Inputs using 5V sense voltage. Four relay outputs (24V 0.5A): RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces (configurable serial parameters).
Advantages
„PC Free“, reliable, low power (8W max) hardware. Maintenance free, no moving parts. Field proven technology, installed in thousands of broadcast locations worldwide. AES/EBU as well as balanced Audio Interfaces. Low Cost. Application source provided, can be modified by a system integrator or OEM.
