Flexibly monitor your environment
Barix Audio over IP devices are in use worldwide by security professionals in a variety of applications, who are taking advantage of the flexibility delivered by Barix:
- Send on level - the Encoder monitors the sound level and will send an audio stream to configurable destinations when the sound level exceeds a predefined value (e.g. monitoring station, recording application etc.). This application is useful for example in city centre monitoring, where the audio stream can be used to alert staff to potential problems.
- Eavesdropping - Security personnel may want to discretely monitor the audio from a particular environment. Using Barix devices in combination with a free server application audio can be not only listened to, but also recorded.
- General noise / activity Detection - used to monitor a usually silent area, any audio, even a low level will trigger the device to send an alert to a monitoring station using SNMP. Useful in e.g. an office at night.
- Triggered audio streaming: Barix devices can be set to stream audio to multiple destinations, initiated by activation of one of their inputs e.g. by a pressure padby a door, a window contact, or a panic button. In such cases the Barix device can also send commands to other Barix equipment across the network.
